In 2008, Buy Fresh Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley (BFBLGLV) and Sarah Petryk, Events Coordinator at Melt created the first “Taste of the Lehigh Valley” to celebrate the flavors of the Lehigh Valley. For six years, this event (also known as Lehigh Valley Harvest) provided attendees with the ability to sample fresh, locally grown foods prepared by the Valley’s best chefs. Everyone enjoyed lavish samplings and exploring the Farm to Table opportunities in the Lehigh Valley.
This year, we are expanding this event to include numerous free, fun activities to entice more people to come learn about our thriving local foods system. Disover the many reasons to buy local foods, meet YOUR farmers, watch demonstrations on preparing and preserving the harvest, and taste the numerous delicious items the Valley have to offer. This will be a delicious, fun-filled afternoon for everybody.
Taste benefits BFBLGLV and supports our programs to build the Greater Lehigh Valley local food economy. For more information, visit http://www.buylocalglv.org/about-buy-local/
